Sokratis Christakis received an Integrated Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Thessaly in 2022, followed by a Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering Science and Technology in 2025. Since 2022, he has been a joint Ph.D. candidate at Sorbonne University and the University of Thessaly, conducting research at both the LIP6 laboratory (Sorbonne University) and NITLab (University of Thessaly).
His research focuses on 5G and beyond mobile networks, with particular interest in the design and optimization of User Plane Functions (UPFs). He investigates AI/ML-driven traffic prediction, dynamic scaling of network functions, and energy-efficient resource allocation through real-world testbed experimentation. He has also been involved in EU-funded collaborative research projects.
