Mr. Moutsinas Ioannis, PhDc, is a graduate of the School of Agricultural Sciences, University of Thessaly, Greece (2013) and the Farm Technology Group of Wageningen University, The Netherlands, where he completed his master’s degree in Biosystems Engineering (2015). In the past, he has worked at a modern greenhouse facility and a big animal farm in Greece and the Netherlands as an Agriculturalist. Since the end of 2016 he has been working at the Networks Implementation Testbed Laboratory (NITLab) of the University of Thessaly as an Agricultural Engineer, Project Manager, and a PhD candidate. His research interests focus on the design, integration, and application of modern technological solutions in the primary sector, with the aim of enhancing its sustainability and viability. To date, he has been involved in the process of writing and submission of various proposals in the contexts of European and National calls (Horizon 2020, EDIH, DIVA, Partnership Agreement 2013-2020 etc.). To this end, he has also participated in the implementation of research and development projects related mainly to the domains of Precision Agriculture and Climate-smart Agriculture, which encompass multidisciplinary consortia composed of private and public bodies. At the same time, he participates in relevant operational projects with private bodies that focus on exploiting and applying research know-how to the business, market, and society.
